Adventist-Reformed dialogue
Le dialogue entre les Adventistes de Septième-Jour et les églises Réformées
- Report of the international
theological dialogue between the Seventh-day Adventist Church and the World Alliance of
Reformed Churches
(Jongny sur Vevey, Switzerland, April 1-7 2001)
The theme of this dialogue was "The church in the setting of the Reformation
heritage: its mission in a world of widespread injustice and ecological destruction".
In the final report, both sides agree that "the Reformed and the Adventists have
frequently misunderstood one another and viewed each other with suspicion". They go
on to offer mutual clarifications. They address the challenges to Christian mission today,
particularly in connection with economic injustice (including HIV/AIDS and violence
against women and children), ecological destruction, and several forms of prejudice.
African Instituted Churches-Reformed dialogue
- Report on the dialogue
between the Organization of African Instituted Churches and the World Alliance of Reformed
Churches (2002)
This document is the record of a significant breakthrough in
ecumenical dialogue. It is a report of a series of three meetings between the Reformed
churches, represented by the World Alliance of Reformed Churches, Geneva, and the African
Independent or Instituted churches (AICs), represented by the Organization of African
Instituted Churches, Nairobi. To our knowledge, it is the first time the African
Independent churches have been involved in a dialogue with another Christian world
communion. During this process, members of churches that separated from churches of the
Reformed family within living memory have been meeting with representatives of the
churches from which they separated. [WARC website]

- God's reign and our
unity: The report of the Anglican-Reformed international commission, 1981-1984
"After a preliminary meeting held in 1978, WARC and the Anglican
Consultative Council representatives met four times between 1981 and 1984. It was hoped
that "an official dialogue with the Anglican communion would be of help to those
Reformed and Anglican churches that belong to a union of churches or are taking part in
negotiations for union" (L Vischer). Anglicans and Reformed discussed ecclesiology,
sacraments, ministry and the form of unity. The final report was published as God's
Reign and Our Unity." [WARC website]

Remembering in Anabaptist-Lutheran Relations (April 2004)
This is the final report of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America-Mennonite Church USA Liaison
Committee established by the ELCA Church Council and the MCUSA in April 2001. "The
Liaison Committee was charged with the task of reflecting upon ways to heal the memories
of sixteenth century conflict, to examine the condemnations of Anabaptists found in the
Book of Concord to determine if they apply to Mennonites today, to discuss baptism and
church-state relationships, and to identify other theological issues that might divide
these two church bodies." [no. 3]
